100k Challenge

This much loved challenge involved participants completing ten 5k’s and five 10k’s over a period of 10 months.  A lot of runners that signed up to take part were already used to running this distance and were happy to know they were giving something back to help others become active too.  However, we also found we had runners signing up for Parkruns and Trust10’s for the first time.  Results were submitted from Northallerton to Redcar to Sedgefield and all the local Parkruns in between.

Anything that encourages people to become more active is great.  There are many virtual challenges on the internet which are profit driven.  Our challenge raised funds which were invested back into the health and wellbeing of local people by delivering our sessions.   The challenge encouraged

  • The important social element and camaraderie of running together

  • Being outdoors enjoying the fresh air rather than a treadmill

  • Exploring the many organised runs right on your doorstep

Some of the challengers enjoyed competing with one another using our Leader Board.  Medals and goody bags were handed out at local events along with a photo opportunity with the 100k Challenge selfie board.

We enjoyed the challenge as much as our challengers who enjoyed it so much, they signed up for Round 2!
