Another inspirational story…. Meet Lewis Bourner!

I met Lewis when I went into Middlesbrough College to talk to the students about the business aspect of the Personal Training course.  We got chatting afterwards about our love of running and I was so impressed with Lewis’ achievements I asked if he would share his story.  He’s recently passed his Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training and Business Skills for Fitness Professionals.  Congratulations Lewis!

Here’s what he had to say –

I started running in January 2012 to better myself and do a bit of exercise rather than go out every weekend.  I found I enjoyed it so I decided to do a few events and got the bug.  I think I've done 106 events which includes 13 marathons.  I’m doing number 14 on 22nd October which is the Yorkshire marathon.   UPDATE – Lewis now has this one in the bag too – picture included!

I joined Middlesbrough and Cleveland Harriers in June 2015 and Swift Tees in March 2018 (the best decision I made).

I’m planning on doing the LiRF course in the next 6 months and maybe do CiRF in the future.

I do all kind of events from 5k to full marathons.

My first official times for these events were

5k - 25:33
10k - 52:22
Half - 1:42:59
Marathon - 4:26:05

Now my PB's are:

5k - 19:08
10k - 38:58
Half - 1:26:33
Marathon - 3:14:42

What progress! Round of applause for Lewis!
